Bettina Anner - Personal Biography
In 1992, Bettina Anner was looking for a countermeasure to her high-pressure, and often superficial, job as a fashion designer, so she started doing yoga. Her first teacher was Sonja Rieger who taught hatha yoga at home to small groups of students. Three years later, she started to learn Sivananda yoga which she continued to practice until she discovered Ashtanga yoga in 1997. Shortly afterwards, she went to meet Lino Miele during his workshop in Munich. Since then, Bettina has regularly participated in Lino's workshops mainly in Italy and India. In 2001, she started assisting Lino in his retreats, deepening her knowledge and learning to give yoga adjustments. In the same year, Bettina also traveled to Mysore to study with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, the guru of Ashtanga yoga, and received his authorization to teach in 2004. Continuing as a student of Lino Miele, Bettina participates and assists in his workshops and retreats, gaining inspiration for her practice and teaching. For this reason, she is very happy and grateful to have Linoji as her teacher. Bettina's teaching style is characterized by fidelity to the Ashtanga system and her love of freedom.
