Eleftheria Lagoudaki - Personal Biography
Eleftheria Lagoudaki was born in Athens, Greece. She studied dance and worked as a dancer, dance teacher and choreographer for years. In 1999, while she was in New York for her postgraduate studies in dance, she took her first yoga class, which changed her life. Since then, she has become a devoted practitioner of Ashtanga yoga.
In 2001, she met Radha Warrell. The next three years, during the summer months, she practiced yoga with Radha, observing her classes and assisting when needed. Eleftheria returns every summer for two months to her teacher to improve her practice. Over the years, Eleftheria also studied with Guruji and Sharath in London (primary and intermediate series) and with Sharath in Evoia, Greece.
Since 2001, Eleftheria has been teaching Ashtanga yoga classes six days per week. In 2002, she founded Om Ashtanga Yoga Studio, the first Ashtanga yoga school in Athens where Ashtanga yoga is taught exclusively. Radha and Pierre visit her studio regularly to teach and observe her students. Eleftheria's teaching follows the Ashtanga yoga method as taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, imparted to her through her teacher Radha.
Eleftheria has a certificate in Ayurveda and holds the I and II degrees of Reiki. She is always searching for the medicinal and spiritual aspects of each asana. She practices and teaches primary and intermediate series. Her teaching is based on a non-dogmatic approach so that mind, body and soul are gradually free to unfurl to their own potential. Eleftheria is the mother of two boys.
