Christina Martini - Personal Biography I started practicing Ashtanga yoga in 2004 as my personal medicine and therapy. As I became devoted to the practice, it began to complement my work as a cancer nurse and holistic wellness coach. I am fortunate to have studied with many amazing and inspiring senior and master teachers—Manju Jois, Nancy Gilgoff, David Williams, David Swenson and Tim Miller—with more than 15 years dedicated to continuing study, workshops, trainings, apprenticeships and mentorship programs year after year. I have been blessed to be authorized by Manju Jois for Level 2 and Ashtanga Therapy to spread the love, compassion, traditions and teachings of this rich, authentic Ashtanga system, as well as the ancient practices of the 8 limbs of yoga, pranayama and chanting mantra to the many lives I have met and will meet along the journey. Each year is an honor to embrace the practice and continue a lifetime study with my teachers who have all been inspirational mentors in my life. This practice changes many lives to live for the better. In addition, I am grateful and humbled to teach and share my shala, a sacred practice space, with many. I have been teaching this practice since 2009 beginning on Guam, then Southeast Asia, Southern California, Northern California-San Francisco and now on Maui as owner of Shala Santosha Ashtanga Yoga & Wellness.
