Natasha Symeonidou - Personal Biography

Natasha Symeonidou

Natasha has been practicing Ashtanga yoga for almost two decades. She is a longtime student of Manju Pattabhi Jois, attending his teacher trainings and workshops in primary and intermediate series and also honored to be hosting and assisting him during his workshops in Thessaloniki, Northern Greece. She is very grateful for having been certified by Manju Pattabhi Jois to teach in his tradition. She has also been studying with Kristina Karitinou Ireland for a long time and has completed her teacher trainings for both the primary and intermediate series, while continuing to study annually with her, thankful for her teachers' sharing and support.

At every opportunity, Natasha learns from senior teachers, including Tim Miller, Nancy Gilgoff, Eddie and Jocelyn Stern, David Swenson and Kino MacGregor. She also attends courses deepening her knowledge in Indian philosophy and culture.

Teaching Ashtanga yoga since 2009 and realizing that a dedicated individualized practice, devoid of dogma, can be transformative and therapeutic on every level, in 2014 Natasha founded Ashtanga Yoga Thessaloniki studio, the first and only dedicated Ashtanga vinyasa yoga shala in the centre of Thessaloniki, Northern Greece. She gives workshops all over the country.

Over the years she has studied various yoga traditions, including hatha, vinyasa, yoga anatomy and therapy. As a preschool teacher and mother, she studied in London and specialized in yoga for children and yoga for the special child. She is a founding member of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Hellas, the Hellenic Association of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga.
