Giuliano Vecchiè - Personal Biography

Giuliano Vecchiè started his yoga practice in 1968. In 1989, he received the Diploma of Yoga Teacher by Swami Krishnanandaji Maharaji, previous Secretary of the Sivananda Ashram of Rishikesh, and also became the President of the Divine Life Society Bologna Branch for more than 10 years.

After meeting Sri K. Pattabhi Jois ("Guruji") for the first time in Mysore in 1998, Giuliano started practicing Ashtanga yoga in Italy with Lino Miele. He has also attended many Ashtanga workshops and teacher trainings with great masters such as Tina Pizzimenti, David Swenson, Richard Freeman, Nancy Gilgoff, Mark and Joanne Darby, David Williams and Kino MacGregor. In 2005, he had the great fortune to study in London with Guruji. Since 2004, Giuliano has been a student of Manju Pattabhi Jois, son of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, and has attended many of Manju's workshops and the 1st and 2nd series teacher trainings. In 2009, Giuliano received Manju's blessing to teach the traditional Ashtanga yoga system.

Since 2005, Giuliano has organized many Ashtanga yoga events in Bologna with some of the abovementioned senior Ashtanga yoga teachers and with Manju Jois in particular.

Since 2007, Giuliano has been the President of the Ashtanga Yoga Bologna Association (AYBO) and the director of the first Ashtanga Yoga School in Bologna. He is also a registered Yoga Alliance Teacher E-RYT 500®.
